The Population Policy of India, 2000.

In February 2000, the government announced the National Population Policy 2000. This policy was followed by Dr. M.S. 3. Reducing infant mortality rate to 30 per thousand live children.

4. Reduce the maternal mortality ratio to less than one hundred per one lakh children.

5. Immunizing all children from diseases prevented by vaccines.

6. To promote late marriage of girls. Marriage is not earlier than 18 years, it is better if it is after 20 years of age.

7. Eighty percent deliveries in hospitals, nursing homes etc. and 100 percent trained people.

8. To provide information, counseling and fertility regulation services and various options of contraception to all.

9 100% registration of births and marriages.

10. To prevent the spread of AIDS and to establish more coordination between the management of reproductive organ diseases and the National AIDS Control Organization.

11. Prevention and control of communicable diseases.

12. Integrating Indian medical systems to bring reproductive and child health facilities door-to-door.

13. Stabilizing population growth till 2045.

14. Health insurance facility of Rs 5000 will be provided to people living below the poverty line who have only two children and after two children, they have undergone sterilization.

15. Those people living below the poverty line will be married who give birth to a child after three years of marriage and believe in the principle of small family.

16. The Child Marriage Prevention Act and the Pre-natal Sex Test Technical Prevention Act should be strictly enforced.

17. Ambulance facility in rural areas.

Free and compulsory basic education for 18.14 years.

19. The Central Government will reward the Panchayats and District Councils who will motivate the people living in their area to adopt population control measures more and more.
