The first optical fiber factory in the country has been set up in Mandideep near Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. The factory will be built by Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation Limited with the technical support of Fujitsu Ltd. of Japan and Furukawa Electrical Company, a pioneer in electronics.
Banmour Factory in 1922, 50 km from Gwalior. It was established at a place called Banmour in far Morena district, owned by the Associated Cement Company. This factory used to produce ordinary Portland cement by humid technology method. (This factory is currently closed)
The Kaimur factory is established in Kaimur near Katni in 1923, owned by the Associated Cement Company. This factory using ordinary method of Portland and Potsalana Cement
There is also a factory for making asbestos and cement sheets from Kaimur.
The Satan Cement factory was established in 1959 at Satna, owned by M / s Birla Jute Manufacturing Company Limited. This factory also uses the ordinary Portland method

Based on the achievement of ceramic and fire clay, this industry has been established in Madhya Pradesh. Ceramic pottery factories are located in Gwalior, Jabalpur, Burhanpur, Katni and Indore and fire clay brick etc. are made in Jabalpur, Katni and Niva.
Chinese dishes like cups, saucers and pickle pot are made in Jabalpur and tea, milk etc. are made in Gwalior in the native way.
In 1960, a heavy electrical goods manufacturing industry was established in Bhopal. Its construction was assisted by a UK factory. The production of tools for machine making was first started in this factory. At present, this factory is famous as 'Bharat Heavy Electricals'.
After 1947, in 1948-49 National News Print and Paper Mill, Nepanagar (East district Nimar, Khandwa) and Orient Paper Mill (District Anuppur) have been established under the planning of the Central Government. Apart from this in Gwalior, Bhopal and Ratlam. There are small paper making factories.
Note making paper is made in Hoshangabad. Currency printing is located in Dewas.
The Mandhar factory in Nepanagar produces newsprint.
The total production capacity of the factory at Nepanagar is 88 thousand MT.
Amalai's paper factory is set up by Birla at some distance from Shahdol.
The important center of the bidi industry is Jabalpur.
Timber lamination is an important industry of the state. Its most important center is Jabalpur. Apart from this, there are also wood sawing factories in Chhindwara and Mandla.
Itarsi has a factory for making chipboards and particle boards.
There is a factory in Gwalior to make matches.
Madhya Pradesh ranks third after cotton and Gujarat in terms of cotton textile production. Of these 28 mills, 9 are in Indore, 5 in Ujjain, 3 in Gwalior, 2 in Burhanpur and one each in Bhopal, Dewas, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Khandwa and Sanawad etc.
At present, the factories for making fabrics with artificial fibers are in Indore, Gwalior and Nagda.
