Presently, the entire Narmada Valley project has become a contentious problem. This multipurpose project is now a multi-problem. The Sardar Sarovar dam is under the shadow of controversy over its height. Although the Supreme Court has warned the displaced people affected by this dam to continue their agitation under the leadership of Medha Patkar. To determine the drainage of water in the canals from Sardar Sarovar, construction of Omkareshwar and Maheshwar projects in Madhya Pradesh has been considered necessary, for which Indira Sagar Yojana has been started. Environmental imbalances are major problems such as lack of proper rehabilitation of migrants, seismic hazard etc. Social workers, environmentalists and displaced families have been mobilized together. Arundhati Roy, an internationally acclaimed Booker honoree has narrated her decision in favor of the Gujarat government from the Narmada Bachao Andolan, joining up and raising the problem at least at the national level. For proper exploitation of Narmada water, it is necessary that this entire valley be planned in a holistic manner. It will be, but due to lack of planning, large amounts of water will have been wasted. Which are priceless.by this dam to continue their agitation under the leadership of Medha Patkar.
